WoW This Week & Upcoming Exam

Globetrotters:

We will do a verbal WoW this week from the new edition of the Economist.  Find an article that is of interest that you want to talk about.  You do not have to write up a summary this week but.. you do need to bring your other WoW summaries from the previous weeks to class on Wednesday.  The need to be typed and placed in a 3-ring binder.

Regarding the exam: I will pass it out at the end of class on Wednesday.  You have until Monday at 5:15 to turn it in.  I teach from 4:20 - 5:10 p.m. in Ryals 207.  You must bring the hardcopy of the exam (stapled, double-spaced, and typed) to my classroom at 5:10, or to my office or  place it in my mailbox on the copy room second floor of Ryals (across from the new classrooms in the side hallway).

There is no class on Monday as you will be finishing your essays.

More directions will be placed on the exam.

See you on Wednesday.  I enjoyed our in-class discussion today!

New WoW (25 Jan 12)

Dont' forget to bring your Economist magazines (if they've arrived) with you to class.  I'll call on you to discuss your WoW.  Read the NY Times article, too.  We'll crack into Keohane's 'hegemony'.

As they say in Brazil, ate mais (until later)

WoW #1 - January 18

Hello Globetrotters!

Our first WoW is tomorrow.  I understand that you may not have your magazines in just yet.  Find an article at economist.com (the magazine's site) and choose one that reflects something about globalization that you find interesting.  Be prepared to talk about it in class tomorrow.

Just an FYI.  I broke my foot in a jogging accident on Sunday.  We may move to another classroom in Ryals that is in a seminar setting (tables where we all sit) rather than our current room's lecture format.  I will not be able to stand and teach over the next 8+ weeks.  Come to our regular classroom but be prepared to move.  I am waiting for confirmation.

Don't forget about your library reading, too.  It is in the Tarver Library on reserve.  Go to the front desk to ask how/where to find the course materials.

See you soon.
